CNN Filtering in Log-Polar Space

Cellular Neural Networks (CNN) are proposed as processing devices for smart-pixel sensors for space-variant active vision. In fact, CNNs can implement the most significant low-level vision operations, and can be integrated together with onchip light-sensitive devices. The problem of porting CNN algorithms to a nonuniformly sampled grid is addressed, in particular for application to motion detection and multi-scale feature extraction.
